Growing up, we weren’t allowed to bring Marvel comics into the house. My Dad was/is a die-hard DC fan and I learned how to read with the comics he’d bring home – Superman, Green Lantern, The Sandman, Catwoman, The Books of Magic and, of course, Batman.
So with the final installment of Christopher Nolan’s Batman series, The Dark Knight Rises, coming out in theatres this Friday, I’m completely geeking out. I also forget that most people haven’t read the comics and accidently let loose a major spoiler at a screening of Batman Returns I went to last night. OOPS!
I loved the vintage Batman story lines and the super-colourful illustrations that went with them. And while I won’t dress up as some comic book character for the premiere, I have absolutely no problem incorporating comic-inspired pieces into my wardrobe. Like so:
Phillip Lim t-shirt and clutch (from pre-Fall ’12 collection) Lanvin Dog Batman T-shirt from ’10 collaboration with Colette
Headband by Janine Basil on Etsy.
Thor earrings by 1928 (in collaboration with Marvel).
Ambush POW! necklace in rose gold.
Bec and Bridge cuffs and belt – love these! (via Trendhunter).
See you at the movies, nerds!
