Two weekends ago I spent a couple of days at a friends cottage for a double-birthday celebration. We ate, drank, played games while we ate and drank, swam, tanned and chilled on the relaxation station (yes, it’s everything you imagine it could be). The entire weekend, front to back, was magical. I had a grin on my face the whole time that you couldn’t wipe off if you tried (well, except on Sunday morning when I woke up with a hangover to rival New Years Day).
My friend and hostess of the weekend Carolyn (killer photographer – check out her blog) took some awesome shots and I thought I’d share them on TVB. Not to make you jealous or anything but good luck not being. It was swell.
We played categories. Fun drinking game. A lot of shouting and ridiculous rule-making. I was happiest when I got to be DJ
The lake was perfect – not too cold or warm
We got great sun while back in Toronto it was rain and cloud. Heaven
I just think this photo is the coolest – leopard print and purple nails – Loves
The sun went down and we got one of the most spectacular sunsets I’ve ever seen
A great weekend! Can I go back now, please?
Sometimes this boy calls me Faye as in Faye Dunaway and it’s cute and funny but then I looked at pictures of her and now I want to buy this boy a present. Ahh thanks?!!! I’m under no illusion that I look anything like Faye Dunaway but I’m sure going to try to look more like her now. Babe!
My body is acting funny. In the last four or five weeks there’s been instance after instance of illness. I finally kicked the atomic-bomb resistant sore throat I had that stuck around for over a month (even after antibiotics) and have had every blood test under the sun to try and figure out what is wrong with me. For the first time ever I got really, really afraid that maybe I’m really sick. Maybe all these little illnesses are warning bells to something bigger. And then I freak out for thinking that because thoughts are things and what if I do get sick will it be because I was sick or because I thought myself into being sick? AGH.
I’m starting to get zen about it – especially now that I’m feeling better. Maybe a little tired but that’s why they’re checking me for mono. But like….really? Mono? There’s nothing more frustrating than knowing there’s something the matter with you and the people who are supposed to have answers for you, don’t. Anyway, letting go. Need to listen to more Wayne Dyer. Need to ramble less on my blog. SILLY BILLBOARD
I need to start planning outfits for Osheaga this weekend. Clothes are half the fun of festivals, right? Maybe it will be an upcoming Polyvore. So that way I can blog clothes instead of rambles. Thanks for indulging me, internets. x
Oh man do I ever have it bad for Paul Newman. Young, old – no matter. He was a babe until the very end. Photos of him are incredibly iconic, in my opinion, of a seemingly untouchable ideal of incredible talent, unconditional love and service to others.
His salad dressing isn’t bad either.
Happy Birthday Paul McCartney!
And Happy Weekend everyone else. You goin to the Island Concert? Let me know!
As an added bonus, here’s a clip of Paul singing Here Today – a song he wrote about John. If you’re like me you might need tissues handy to watch this with.
What’s going on in the Internets, you ask? Couldn’t tell ya. I haven’t looked at a damn blog all week. Sorry! Instead I bring you cool pictures featuring guys being hot. There yago:
It’s not for nothing it says ‘Hot’ over Paul Newman’s head right here

I love lace. It’s so delicate and complex and light. I am constantly grabbing images of lace that strike me so thought I’d share:
No i’m not a crazy person looking at wedding dresses – I’ve loved this dress for a full year (back when it was appropriate for me to be looking at wedding stuff). So beautiful. (via Sugar Love)

The weather over the last month has been incredible, right? So hot and sunny and lovely – an early summer to make up for last year’s spectacular fail (it was summer for like, two weeks in July. What a joke)
That’s why I’m able to look out the window at the rain today and not be annoyed. Even though I start my new job (!!!) next week and have precious few days of unemployment left, I can’t hate on the rain.

Happy Birthday Stevie Nicks!
What a great excuse to re-post my favourite You Tube video ever. In Life. Of all time.
It just makes life better, right? Thanks Stevie. xo
