“It is fate that I am here,’ George persisted, ‘but you can call it Italy if it makes you less unhappy.”
I don’t know how I never saw A Room With A View before last night. I love romantic period films and this was no exception. The hair! The scenery! The brooding! The passion!
And, obviously, Florence.
I think about Florence so often. Like, daily.
This hair!
The scene when he stalks towards her through the barley and kisses her like a woman should be always kissed. ARGH!
This was my number-one favourite scene in the whole movie. George and Lucy are sitting in the grass and he looks down at her feet like they are the most desirable things he’s ever seen. She notices him staring and quickly tucks them under her skirt, as if she felt for the moment that her feet were immodest. GOD! So hot.
I couldn’t find one screen grab that properly exemplified how gorgeous the ending is, so here is a clip. Watch it and spend the rest of your day feeling flustered.
