summer sweets and treats

2 Jun

Last week I was invited to visit Jamba Juice and Yogurty’s Bloor Street locations to sample some of their newest creations for summer.  Icy juice and fro-yo? Count me IN.

I’d actually never been to a Jamba Juice before and my only impression of the product was when I saw it clutched in the hands of celebs in gossip mags. We sampled the new Fruit Refreshers – Tropical Mango, Strawberry Lemonade and Watermelon Splash. They’re all made with coconut water and have 230 calories or less. I am not even joking when I say these taste like ice cream. So, so good.

Then we walked down the street to Yogurty’s. This is a place I am very familiar with. At my old office, we’d hit up the Queen West location for lunch and snacks a LOT. I love Yogurty’s. They have the best toppings and flavours. I mean, look:

My favourite flavour, funnily enough, is Tart. Classic, plain frozen yogurt. So when we were told that the newest flavours were Greek-style Yogurt and Greek-style with Honey, I was pumped to try them out. The Greek is exactly like the Tart except even more creamy. It’s rare that I indulge in dairy, but I don’t think twice about it when it comes to Fro-Yo.

Healthy, right? There is actually chocolate under all that fruit but I really love the clean flavours of plain frozen yogurt and fresh fruit. There’ll be a joint Yogurty’s – Jamba Juice opening in Liberty Village this July. Can’t wait!
