priorities

28 Mar

So I’m easing back into exercise. Late last month I stopped when I started the cleanse because I didn’t want to “over do it” (read: health extremes are not my thing) and then I got lazy, and then I got sick. Now I’m much better and finally back to working out, starting with the Tracy Anderson Method (as recommended by Lia).

Have you heard? Probably. Gwyneth does it. Madonna discovered her. There are two videos: The mat method and the dance cardio. Guess who is never going to do the dance cardio? This guy! She says you should do her mat video 4-6 times a week and cardio at least one-hour, four times a week. So that’s a total of like 8 hours of workouts a week. I’m willing to wager that doing any kind of exercise that often will yield outstanding results. So why am I doing Tracy?

She says “teeny-tiny”. Multiple times. Ear symphony in my books. Like “Your arms will be teeny-tiny” “You want to look teeny-tiny”. Yes, yes I do. Also, she says her exercises suck the skin back into your muscle. And, have you seen Gwyenth’s bod lately? Look:

Look at that!

How her arms go back and there’s not that crease – do you know what I’m talking about? The chubby back arm crease thing. Convinced Method resolves it.

Best part of the video is the end where Gwyneth gives her testimonial.

“All of my friends and all the people who say “I really wanna work out and I wanna change my body but I just don’t have the time. I have kids and I work” And, umm, I do too. I just try to  make it a priority.”

Can’t you just hear the smug mean girl in that? Loves it.

maybe I’ll finally watch the Mat DVD. I have the book – http://www.amazon.com/Tracy-Andersons-30-Day-Method-Weight-Loss/dp/0446562041 – which I CERTAINLY don’t like live by, but get most of my “moves”, ha, my fitness MOVES, from. It’s good.

DAMN! I may have her hair cut circa 1997 but I certainly do not have her body!
