it begins

21 Feb

How many vitamins do you take per day? I started out gung-ho on vitamins last year and promptly threw up on my first three attempts at taking them. Since then, I’ve eased back into it, thanks to my obsession with Cod Liver Oil. Since I take the oil religiously, I’m reminded to take my other vitamins. So, as of today, total 19 a day. Quite the mouthful.

As of yesterday I was only taking seven a day but since it’s cleanse time (day one!), I picked up some Genuine Health Greens+. The dosage is four capsules, three times a day. Twelve in total. Yikes! But I chose them for a reason, they contain high levels of chlorophyl – a great cleansing agent for the blood and colon (sexy!).

On top of that I take two multivitamins (Genuine Health multi plus Daily Glow), three cod liver oil capsules and calcium-magnesium before bed. On stand-by and in semi-regular rotation are vitamins C and D.

For real, cod liver oil works. My skin is definitely looking more nourished and my redness has gone down. I’m also on a new Origins routine that I will share with you next week once my trial is complete.

So. Am I missing anything?

I take milk thistle 2-3 times/day and dandelion root tear whenever I can choke it down, to help the liver

*dandelion root tea. It tastes awful so I usually wait for it to cool off quite a bit then chug it in a few goes.

Oh I will absolutely try the tea. Might as well clean the liver while I’m dead sober (as opposed to after multiple nights of abuse). What does milk thistle do?

[...] kicked off 2011 with a trip to NYC, which was just OK but also served as the impetus for how seriously I started to take my health (ironically, I was sick more this year than any other I can remember). [...]
