Cash-money/Cashmere

10 Jan

I had a sleepover at Shelley’s on Friday night. Her guest room bed has the most ridiculously comfy and beautiful sheets and duvet, I slept like a rock (for the most part). The best thing about going through tough times is getting out of the house to see friends who make you feel like everything is going to be OK. I’m a lucky girl and I know it.

I am systematically cleaning every inch of my apartment and in the process putting away/pitching all reminders of the ex. It’s a totally draining job so I’m taking breaks often. The best part so far is going through my favourite clothing in the closet (whose space is now and will remain ALL MINE). I’m really into rich materials lately – silk, cashmere, lace, velvet and so on -and pieces that will stand the test of time. So sick of fall-apart-in-two-months shit from H&M and Zara. Of course, cannot afford more than H&M and Zara at the moment but a girl can dream (and hope her Mom takes her shopping when she visits).

If I could, I would:

Buy a Burberry Trench Coat with pretty pleats. So timeless.

Spend more than $10 on a pair of sunglasses (pictured, Jil Sander)

Get a belt that wasn’t already used (pictured, Burberry Bridle belt)

Buy a bikini that didn’t come from Old Navy (how pretty are scalloped edges?) LOVE. (pictured, Vix bikini)

Lounge around in something other than old jogging pants and t-shirts. Cashmere, for instance. (pictured, Bamford long cashmere cardigan and pants, Denis Colomb scarf, Burberry bag, Lanvin shoes and top from Vanessa Bruno)

And while I’m in Net A Porter dreamland, might as well go for the gold (the actual gold, not the stuff that turns my skin green) This necklace by Solange Azagury-Partridge would serve as a decadent reminder.
